Conference Tournament Predictions

It's March and the most underrated part of college hoops is goin down this week, conference tournaments. Ya gotta love it because it can push that bubble team over the top and into the field of 68, but it can also pop your bubble like Jermaine O'Neal popped that Pistons fan in the Malice in the Palace. Conference tournaments allow teams who have absolutely no business playing hoops in March make the tournament. I remember two years ago USC had a hideous team. But before you could say NCAA sanctions they won the tournament and got an automatic bid... beautiful stuff. Now i'm in the midst of the week prior to my spring break which we all know sucks more than Jenna Jameson back in her glory(hole) days. I got 3 fuckin tests on Wednesday and then I can get twisted like a damn pretzel in North Carolina with my pals. The only thing keeping me running (on fumes mind you) is college hoops.

ACC- Duke
I know UNC won the regular season ACC, which in my mind is always more impressive than winning the conference tournament, but I think Duke will rebound from their finale loss and win the conference tournament. I pegged them as a 1 seed on my radio show and like I said i'm a loyal guy... but in order for the Devils to grab that 1 they gotta win the conference tourney. Git em Gremlin.

BIG 12- Kansas
I didn't think this one was all that difficult for me to pick. Texas is dropping faster than the pants of an Arizona sorority slut on a Friday night. And K-state has had a nice revival since coming back from the dead, but Kansas is flying under the radar as much as a 2 can. And if you think they're not still having nightmares about Faroukmanesh then your fucking crazy... cuz they are.

Big East- St. Johns
Easily the best conference with the best conference tournament. Played in the Mecca of basketball, it really doesn't get much better than a night in MSG full of college hoops. I mean can anyone forget that psycho marathon of a game between Cuse and UConn a couple years ago? Well this year I'm goin with the Johnnies. I fuckin love these guys, their athleticism and senior leadership... not to mention fresh as fuck Coach Lavin. They're playing on their home court and you can bet those sweet cheeks of yours they're gonna get support... please belee dat.

Big 10- Ohio St.
Like the Big 12 pick of Kansas this was a no brainer. They are the most consistent team in the country in my opinion and will be cutting down the nets in April. Sullinger is huge up front, Diebler shoots better than Marky Mark in Shooter and David Lighty has the senior leadership because he's been there since he came out of the fucking womb... graduate already... with a championship of course.

PAC 10- UCLA
This was the most difficult of the tournaments to pick, other than the Big East where literally everyone besides like DePaul and USF have a chance. I'm going with the Bruins because they are playing in their backyard essentially. Ya so are the Trojans, but they're not as good as UCLA. What about the Wildcats? Well all of their losses have been on the road including a nightmarish weekend in LA last week. Gimme UCLA and white trash bruiser Reeves Nelson here.

SEC- Vanderbilt
Fitting we end with the two worst conferences of the major ones. This is really just a football conference, but there are some decent teams. I refuse to pick Kentucky because they are too erratic, especially on the road. I just think Vanderbilt will edge out Florida for this conference title because it seems as if every game they lose, they are right there at the end, never really getting blown out. They have solid talent in Jeff Taylor and maybe coach Kevin Stallings can finally be able to communicate to his players without shouting across the fuckin arena.
